Have you ever considered owning an RV? Traveling the country can take many forms, and having your own mobile home on wheels is something many people decide is a good idea. Our blog post this month will touch on some of the benefits of owning an RV, and why you should consider it.

One benefit that many discuss is the fact that you are not limited in terms of what you can bring on a trip when you own an RV. If you want to bring 8 suitcases worth of clothing, it is doable in an RV. Not necessarily realistic to think that the same could be done if you are flying or driving in a car. Families would be pleasantly surprised at how convenient travelling with the kids happens to be in an RV.

It is also good to know that you can travel and plan a trip at your own pace when behind the wheel of an RV. You are not pressed for time and rushing to a gate to avoid missing a flight, or depending on a cab or ride hailing service to get around. You have true freedom and independence on the road when traveling in an RV.

The last few weeks and months have been very tumultuous on the weather front! Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the people who have lost everything in Texas. It’s been great to see so many individuals step up and provide donations to those in need. Beyond the hurricane in Texas, there is a potential hurricane that could hit Florida in the coming days.

Hurricane Irma is currently bearing down on the northeast Caribbean coast. Some have speculated that it may hit Florida by the weekend. It has now gathered steam, and is currently a Category 5 storm, with speeds now in the mid 180 mile per hour range. Governor Rick Scott also recently waived all toll fees on highways, which will assist individuals in exiting the state due to inclement weather most efficiently.

A hurricane is a very dangerous and stressful event to have to deal with. Our recommendation is that you follow the lead of our Governor Rick Scott in regards to preparing for Hurricane Irma. One of the first things that you should do is to determine if you are in a flood evacuation area. If so, making plans to leave as soon as possible is the best idea. It is also a good idea to have a plan for your animals as well. Many areas have shelters, but it’s always good to have these things ironed out when preparing for a hurricane. It is also a good idea to stock up on a “Hurricane Preparation Kit”, which can include:

  • Nonperishable food items
  • Water
  • A flashlight
  • Batteries
  • A local map

We hope that this blog post goes a long in helping you prepare for Hurricane Irma. Stay safe and prepare for anything! Feel free to check out more information in regards to flood insurance here as well.

We know that everyone is not a homeowner. There are many renters, and it is essential that if you rent that you are covered in the event that anything happens to your apartment unit. Today’s blog post will touch on some of the many reasons that an individual should purchase and have a solid renters insurance policy. Read up and enjoy!

Protect Your Belongings

Many people are aware of insurance that your landlord may have. The catch is that this type of insurance is solely meant to protect the landlord’s property and possessions, and not yours. This is why having your own renters insurance policy is critical. Renters insurance is in place to cover the following:

  • Your possessions such as electronics, computers, furniture, and other valuable items in the event that they are damaged
  • Covers you if you are ever found legally liable for something such as an injury or property damage. This would cover you if a friend or family member is hurt while at your apartment.
  • If an individual is injured in an accident at your apartment, you will be covered and not personally have to pay for medical expenses.

Fills The Gap Left By Other Insurance

Renters insurance is also very useful to fill the gap left by something such as your auto insurance. If your car is broken into and your laptop is stolen, having renters insurance will ensure that your laptop will be covered and that you won’t have to pay out of pocket to get a new one! With the rise in car theft, it is a great idea to supplement things by getting renters insurance.

These are just a few reasons that it makes a lot of sense to get a reasonably priced, and thorough renters insurance policy. At All-Lines Insurance, we pride ourselves on working with individuals to find just the right renters insurance policy. Let us help you to find the coverage that works best, to ensure that you are taken care of should unforeseen events arise!

Do you know what a surety bond is? Many people are unaware, so we wanted to be sure to draft a blog post that breaks down a little more info on what it is, and why it is very important.

A surety bond is essentially a legally binding agreement between the principle (individual in need of the bond), an obligee (individual requiring the bond) along with the actual insurance company involved in the transaction. You could also think of a surety bond as the combination of insurance and credit. It is widely used in the construction and automotive fields.

The obligee can make a claim in the event that the principle does not hold up their end of an agreed upon contract. This allows them to recover losses and ensure that they are not taken advantage in costly and fast moving business deals.

If claims do occur it is critical to find a credible surety professional to represent you and be your advocate in the claims process. Their goal is to ensure that you are not taken advantage of, and that all filed claims are valid and have merit! There are a number of reasons that you need to be sure to build relationships and work with a solid and respected surety professional. The first reason is the fact that they will help you through the entire process, which can be very cumbersome and difficult. They also ensure that illegitimate claims go unpaid, along with legitimate claims being amicably resolved with reduced or no payout when possible.

We hope that everyone is having a great start to the month of July! This month’s blog post will touch on many automotive statistics that are very relevant to safety. It is our hope that this post will serve as a useful reminder about how important it is to have sound commercial insurance coverage.

Employees spend lots of time in company cars depending on the business. Dropping off deliveries, going to meetings, and performing legitimate tasks might require someone on your staff to use a company vehicle. Driving carries risk, and there are many things that an individual has to deal with on the road that could cause an accident.

Stats paint a clear picture of the dangers your workers might face when driving on the job. Please see a few:

  • In 2015, there were 3,477 people killed, and an estimated 391,000 people injured in motor vehicle crashes caused by distracted drivers.
  • Ten percent of fatal crashes, 15 percent of injury crashes, and 14 percent of all police-reported motor vehicle traffic crashes in 2015 were reported as distraction-affected crashes.
  • According to a study by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI), sending or receiving a text takes a driver’s eyes off the road for an average of 4.6 seconds, the equivalent of driving blind at 55-mph for the length of an entire football field.
  • Every year in America at least 500,000 people are killed or injured by a combination of texting and driving.

Having a sound commercial auto policy will ensure that your business is properly covered in the event of car accidents or similar issues that arise. Our agents are trained and knowledgeable. We will ensure that you get the right policy that is custom tailored to fit your businesses needs.
